Big
Mountain - Whitefish, Montana www.bigmtn.com
It's a primal force that draws the adventurous to discover
nature and themselves, delighting in the elements. Following
their European heritage, the original settlers of Whitefish,
Montana strapped homemade skis to husky leather boots
and hiked up the "big mountain" just outside of town.
It
was hard work, but well worth the chance to float down
through soft, unbroken snow, time and again. They would
camp in rustic, hand-hewn cabins, hiking and skiing, whooping
and laughing, until "real" work called them back down
to town.
